FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the CBD effect last?

The effect and duration of CBD vary significantly, depending on several parameters involving the pharmacokinetics of the active substance. These include the method of administration, individual-specific factors (gender, age, weight, etc.), and psychophysical characteristics of the individual.

How long does CBD stay in the human body?

The parameter that technically indicates the duration or 'persistence' of a substance within our body is called the half-life, which is the time required to reduce the plasma concentration of the substance by 50%.

Currently, research on CBD indicates a half-life of 27-35 hours for inhalation administration and 2-5 days for oral administration.

How long does CBD take to take effect?

As documented in current literature, the fastest effect is achieved through inhalation (5-10 minutes), while with oral administration, there is an increase in CBD plasma concentration after about 1 hour (likely onset of CBD effects), reaching its peak around 3 hours. Subsequently, elimination via feces and urine begins. In a research study, the peak of CBD in urine after oral administration of >150mg was recorded after 6 hours. Therefore, it can be inferred that CBD effects last at least 6 hours.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

Does CBD have side effects?

A comprehensive review of the literature covering more than 130 published studies has concluded that, even in cases of high doses of CBD, up to 1500 mg per day, no significant side effects have been reported. There have been no observed alterations in key physiological parameters, such as blood pressure and heart rate, nor significant adverse effects on psychomotor functions in clinical studies.

The few side effects identified, mostly observed in in vitro studies or animal models, include reduced fertility, inhibition of liver enzymes involved in drug metabolism, and changes in cell viability. In human studies, minor side effects reported include diarrhea, fatigue, and changes in appetite, with appetite reduction being more common than an increase.
