FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of seeds are used for the extracted hemp?

The CBD in Zoo Lab products is derived from seeds that comply with the regulations and standards of the European Union. These seeds are certified in accordance with the Regulations of the European Parliament and Council, including Directive 2002/53/EC, and relevant laws concerning the quality and origin of hemp.

What extraction process is employed in the production of CBD?

Our extraction process adheres to stringent quality standards and complies with the guidelines of the European Pharmacopoeia. The method used ensures the attainment of a final product of the highest purity. Additionally, we verify the absence of residual solvents, ensuring our products meet the regulations applied to pharmaceutical products.

Is the CBD you use naturally sourced or synthetic? Is there a certification confirming its natural origin?

Our CBD is a naturally sourced molecule. During production, we do not conduct artificial synthesis of CBD; instead, we extract the molecule directly from the hemp plant. This approach ensures our CBD is entirely natural. Furthermore, we have certifications that validate its natural origin and purity.

How long does CBD stay in the human body?

The parameter that technically indicates the duration or 'persistence' of a substance within our body is called the half-life, which is the time required to reduce the plasma concentration of the substance by 50%.

Currently, research on CBD indicates a half-life of 27-35 hours for inhalation administration and 2-5 days for oral administration.

Is it possible to use CBD during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

As far as we know at this time, there haven't been any research studies that can prove the safety of using CBD in pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. However, we recommend avoiding the administration of CBD during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How long does CBD take to take effect?

As documented in current literature, the fastest effect is achieved through inhalation (5-10 minutes), while with oral administration, there is an increase in CBD plasma concentration after about 1 hour (likely onset of CBD effects), reaching its peak around 3 hours. Subsequently, elimination via feces and urine begins. In a research study, the peak of CBD in urine after oral administration of >150mg was recorded after 6 hours. Therefore, it can be inferred that CBD effects last at least 6 hours.
